This is a wonderful place for BIRDWATCHING!
We are 30 to 40 minutes away from three distinct sites.
30 minutes from the estuary of the River Guadalhorce with its wide diversity of species at any time of year but obviously specialising in water birds,

"Birds of Finca del Niño" by Peter Welch
40 minutes from the Parque Natural of the Montes de Malaga which has medium sized mountains with mixed forests of pines, cork oaks etc.with large varieties of passurines, many breeding Raptors eg Short Toed Eagles, Booted Eagles and many overflying raptors and Storks during the migrating season.
40 minutes from the Parque Natural of the Sierra Tejeda and Zafarrya which has two areas, one of rugged mountain ranges where you will find raptors of all kinds, plus resident Eagle Owls, Blue Rock Thrushes, Ring Ouzels in winter and an occasional Wallcreeper and much more, and the other area of The Sierra Tejeda itself with pine woods and broken ravines, and fantastic views from a winding track which meanders along for 12 k in and from which can be seen Crag Martins, Ravens, Red Billed Chough, etc.
All this apart from being able to see from the garden and farm itself Scops Owls, Black Redstarts, Woodchat Shrikes, Sardinian Warblers, Hoopoes, Beeaters, Serrins, nesting Nightjars, and Green and Goldfinches galore!
